The cause of a Functional hallux limitus

This condition is something that other podiatrists make believes in and others do not is this we called the Functional hallux limitus. What happen ib this condition is that the big toe (hallux) joint does not move (limitus) when walking (functional). What happen if the joint does not move, is that there is more motion in the midfoot joints (the arch collapses. The reason there is not agreement is that some believe the functional hallux limitus causes the arch to collapse. Others believe that the arch collapses first and then this is what causes the functional hallux limitus. Unfortunatly the research is not very helpful on this with mixed and no clear results.
