Teaching an Old Dog New Tricks
We have all heard it, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks” but is this true? Dogs learn from repetition – think about it, if you leave for work at the same time and return home at the same time everyday, your dog learns what “time” you will be home, no, your dog did not learn to tell time, but by repeating the same activity daily, he has learned when you will be home. Dog obedience training is much the same way, whatever you want your dog to do, you will have to repeat it several times for them to “get it.” Most dogs, have iron clad memories once they learn something, they never forget it.
