Sports Pressure
The most talented kids in the United States these days have to deal with a lot of pressure that athletes of the past did not have to deal with. College scouts are coming to watch kids play at a younger age than ever before. Some of the most talented kids have verbally committed to colleges as early as the age twelve. This verbal committment is not the same as a written contract, but it does mean that the kid plans on it, and that is the first step in recruiting. That is what the big schools are doing now to stay ahead.
